In 1978, tradition was created by hand on a beach in Carriacou, Grenada. She exploited the trade winds, carrying cargo, including illegal goods from St. Barthelemy, where the smuggling trade in booze and cigarettes flourished until as recently as the 1990s. She was built for sail trading around the Caribbean.

Tradition is now living in semi-retirement on Anguilla and sailing to capture the romance of a Caribbean past instead of island trading.
